Siobhan as far as I am aware we dont have a Enid kathleen Livermore in the family tree.

Ann Tracy and Von. I sent a letter of to the Army a week or so ago and I have as of yet not recieved a reply. Im thinking I will not hear from them now untill after Christmas.

I am really unsure as to what to do next as I think we have done everything.

Mary thankyou for the link.I am still at work and will check the site out this evening.I have checked out a couple of South African sites and I do know that it is proving difficult without an area of birth in South Africa. But you never know third time lucky with this site. I will let you know how I get on.

In the absence of Dionne currently, I have to add that yes all the new data has been found, beaten and robbed of it's information !!!

The births we could not find we made the logical conclusion they happened in Africa. Altho there are still a few holes most have been either solved or at the very least all other options eliminated.

Those of us who have been here since the biginning of this journey are now awaiting replies to letter Dionne sent out before Xmas. These we hope will give us some more data from family members either not willing to give data or to people we have newly found.

I resurrected this thread in the hope Dionne had found something new, and to give her a gentle prod we're all still here waiting..*looks at watch & starts to tap foot *

Thankyou for the added postings and it is so nice to see that you are still interested in my quest.

As for updates there is little I can tell you and Im really sorry about that. I am still waiting to hear from the Army and am hoping that they can shed some light on the South Africa link.I think the Army is my last hope as I dont really know where to go from here.

As soon as I hear anything I will let you all know as soon as possible.

I do firmly believe if the TV show Who Do You Think You Are? where doing normal ordinary folk, they def should pick this thread... there is still so much to discover that would make great TV.

Dionne you are a total inspiration on how to keep people gripped and enthralled...this also reminds me that despite how we deem life today and the antisocial ways people behave; we can still all pull together and help others without any personal gain ourselves other than the fact we have made someone elses life a little better....

Before this thread dissapears into the ether i just want to go on record and say thanks to Dionne and everyone else who has helped out, looked in or just generally been there....

You have all proved to me this wall bashing game we all play day after day, trying to understand people who have long been dead is really worth it.

Well done, what a quest. Once again GR members freely give their time, effort and support. Your dad must be proud of you. The one thing I must say is that life goes on and although your gran appears to have a lot to answer for, it is all in the past. Now your family is growing and you all have an opportunity to get to know each other and each others families.

Just a thought that in a similar quest to yours, it was proving difficult to keep track of everyone mentioned in the "Threads" until a member put a tree on GR. This proved to be extremely useful in reminding people who was related to who.

Taken me an absolute age to read through all the threads, but very gripping.

I couldn't have done half of this or found out so much information without the help of some fantastic members here. You are all so wonderful.

On Christmas day I presented my dad with two mounted frames of his family tree. The Livermore's and the Sloper's. He was so touched and and the frames have pride of place hanging on his wall in the sitting room. I am hoping to put a book together soon for him with all of the information that I have gathered and obtained.

I still haven't heard anything from the Army.I will leave it for a few weeks and if there is still no news then I will write to them again.
