Best bet is to try and find the nearest library to Baddesley Ensor/Atherstone.

They should be able to tell you whether it has always been known under Warwickshire county.

I know that I have a fair few rellies in Warwickshire, but where one census has said Warwickshire, the previous has said Staffordshire.

BUT then if this is the right marriage in the 1881 census
A Sarah smith is in Sandon Rd county refuge , which was a place where discharged prisoners or fallen women went states she was born in Athersone in the census (assuming right)
So I guess I need her in the '91 see if she is still SMITH
or find out more on John SMITH I.e born etc
