Did you actually look up the 1904 birth for Andrew Duffield and get the parents of Arthur John and Henrietta Scott.

Usually on the scottish birth certs it give the date of the marriage. Have you looked for the marriage?

There are several possibles for Arthur in England but the marriage cert would give you the name of the father

if you found the marriage certificate it will tell you Both sets of parents and occupations of fathers, Which may help us find your Arthur's birth in England..

ok got it!!! arthurs dad is alfred duffield and mother harriet and cannot read her maiden name it looks like rye or dye but cannot be sure!

and henriettas dad is alexander scott (deceased) and mother jane and maiden name looks like reid (deceased)
