George Edward Vaughan was my grandfather but I never new him. He was discharged from the Manchester Regiment on 23rd March 1919. He was a Warrant Officer 2nd Class. He never came back to his wife and children in Watford. Can anyone throw some light on what happened to him? His pension was paid to a 'Mrs Vaughan' but not my Grandmother! George was born in Ditcheat Somerset 1880/1881. His father was Hugh Vaughan born 1852 in Ditcheat (have not got his mother's name yet)He married my Grandmother Emily Florence Lumber on 5th Nov 1902 in Portsea, Hants. There children were: Bertie (died in an accident), Reginald(my father),Charlie, Freda, Chrissie, and Renie (who was disabled and died around age 20yrs). |

If his father was Hugh it appears he was Edward James. Hugh was single in 1881. |
