I am looking for information on Ann Ireland Petch born in 1846 in Northumberland. She was a domestic servant and had a son James Petch born 17 August 1877 in Newcastle upon Tyne, he was in the Middlesborough Union Workhouse as an orphan on the 1891 census, he changed his name to Woodman but i don't know when. Any information on him or his mother or father would be greatly appreciated. |

Yes i believe his birth cert was handed down with his possessions, i believe what i have heard is that sometimes the workhouses change their names. I have the date for his marriage but not a copy of the certificate. |

It would be a great help if anyone could tell me if Ann Petch married or when she died as she just vanished as did James between 1891 census and 1911 census. |

It seems that Ann Petch may have had a connection with Middlesbrough (where James was in the workhouse 1891) before he was born. |
