If the message was sent it should show in your GR inbox, and GR would have notified you by e-mail

However, attestation records show ONLY the man’s name, so you won’t learn anything from his, other than that the man on this record was transferred to the reserves in 1946, which means he survived.

Despite the GRO record showing his second name as LaUrence, the image is clearly LaWrence.

In 1921 Kenneth Pearson born Middlesbrough 1909 is stepson to Charles H E Dowson……..his mother is Ruth Bell Dowson

Charles H E Dowson married Ruth B Pearson OND 1914

Ruth Bell Pearson was born 1886 in Great Ayton, Yorkshire and was unmarried when Kenneth was born. In 1911, she was a servant in Bishop Auckland.

The 1911 census on page one will be HER son

He is the one who went to Canada - he is NOT connected to this enquiry

Ruth died in 1932 and Charles remarried………….to a much younger woman, who, in turn, re-married after he died.

1921 census for the FRED in 1939 shows the son as Charles Kenneth…birth on freebmd. Reg in Bradford

Birth on FMP gives MMN Lund

FRED born LEEDS…occupation Gardener

Fred was the father of Charles Kenneth 1911 from his 2nd relationship
He was married to Annie Knaggs first and had Charles laurence born 1901
Yes he had 2 sons same name , different relationships

Charles Kenneth was my grandad
Fred was my great grandad. I was just interested in his first marriage to see what happened to his son Charles Laurence. Fred also had a daughter - Louisa , but she died as a young child
