Thank you, again for the information, this confirms what I already believed. Mabel divorced her first husband Robert Leo Collier in 1924, the decree absolute was reported in the Sydney Morning Herald on 27/05/1925 and Jack Stapleton was known to Kate Collier (born 1925) as "Uncle Jack" but reading between the lines maybe Jack wasn't "Uncle" at all. However all this happened in Australia and Kate was born in London, England and her daughter (my ex wife born 1946) used to talk about going to see Mabel in London during the late 40's. This suggests that Mabel must have visited England between 1946 and her death in 1952 in Australia.

Thanks for some interesting info on Robert Leo Collier (2 years ago) I am now trying to discover when Robert and his wife, Mabel actually arrived in Australia. I know that Mabel gave birth to a further 3 girls in 1921, 1923 and 1925 all born in London, England and I believe that Robert died in Australia in 1947 and Mabel died in Australia in 1952 which suggests that they must have returned to England and the gone back to Australia or maybe only Mabel returned to England in the 1920's

If you don't think the info posted by everyone who has tried to help you is correct, you should purchase a copy of Robert's marriage cert for confirmation of his father's name. Or his birth cert for both parents
