I've been lucky enough to come across 2 suitcases full of family photos, original certificates, letters & cards & newspaper cuttings dating back to the 1870's. I want to scan them & save them to disc with the ability to add a caption as most of the photos have comments written on the back. Any ideas as to the best software to use to help me with this??? I've always found Adobe reliable and straightforward. reg

Thanks chaps. This is probably a daft question. But if I used adobe & then wanted to make copies of the CD's to give to other family members does that mean that they will need to have the adobe software to view the photos?

No, once you've transferred things to CD, they can be viewed using any CD player, or PC. Reg
