Marriage certificates have had the names and occupations of the fathers of both bride and groom since civil registration started in 1837. Kate. |

Thank you, no the place of birth was another question I was going to ask, but then I worked it out for myself, but didn't delete that bit! I really must concentrate! ;0> Trudi |

It will have their father's names and occupations, but no place of birth, assuming you are talking about Eng/Wales. I have never seen a ''modern'' marriage cert with a place of birth??????? Merry |

Does anyone know, if I ordered my g grandparents' marriage certificate from 1881 would it contain their places of birth and names of their fathers as modern certs do? Thanks Trudi |
