Hi, I have children born 1830-1839 and I believe the parents married in 1831 and the child born in 1830 was baptised in 1836. The yougest isnt on the BMD so how do i tell whether the marriage i have found is the correct one? Unfortunately the man was a mariner and from Liverpool, so im not sure if seeing the entry of his occupation will help as it was known to have a lot of seafaring men. Hope that makes sense! |

If you get the birth certificate of the child born 1839, the mother's maiden name should match with the surname of the bride. Sam x |

Unfortuanately they dont appear on the BMD so looks like it was never registered. Some of the children were baptised, but presumably it wouldnt list mothers maiden name |

Well if you got one of the kids marriage certs hopefully the fathers name and occupation would match? Mums names are sometimes shown on parish records. |
