Smashing to have all these dates and will copy them. The Battle of Culloden was on the 16th of April 1746 and apparently only lasted 45 minutes! Large losses though especially in the aftermath. Christine - lived in Inverness for 38 years!

I have just been sat here wondering why so many of my men are not on the 1881 census - thanks to this list I now know they could be fighting in the Boer war. Do we know how to check that out - pretty pretty please? thanks Sue
