Hi Louise, I wasn't able to find William on any of the immigration or US census records. I don't have a subscription to the Canadian records but there are a few on GR who do. Perhaps they could help. Rose |

Hi Larry & Rosemary William was born in 1873. I don't know when he traveled (he disappeared from my grandmother's life when she was 5, about 1902). His last known address , in 1901, was Canterbury Rd, Gillingham, Kent where he had a shop as a hairdresser. Many thanks for your help. Regards Louise |

Do you know what year William travelled and what port he went from, if not where did he live before he emigrated? |

If you give me some names and ages I'll look on the passenger records on Ancestry. Ellis Island closed in 1924. There are records for Boston, New York , and Philadelphia that go up to 1948. Rose |

Hi Does anyone know where I can start my search for people emigrating to USA/Canada during the first half of 20th century? Any suggestions gratefully received. Regards Louise |
