would a marriage cert for 1837 and 1849 (same person married twice) show father or would it show deceased if that was the case? jenny |

It should show father's name whether he is alive or deceased but may have deceased written after his name. I have several that have deceased written where it would show his occupation but they still show father's name. Good Luck Irene. |

In the case of an illegitimate child, it won't usually have a father at all! nell |

thanks both, smiley I'm glad you have the same, I am sure he was dead at the time of the wedding but the certificate threw me, especially as it was on both of them. jenny |
