Alport Town, Lancashire

Does anybody know where Alport Town was/is? It is given as a place of residence on a marriage certificate. This person was born in Bury, Lancs, and then married in Manchester at the Cathedral. Alport Town could be close to either of these. Any ideas gtreatfully received! |
