What a great idea. Kelly's directory can be useful, if you need info as to who lived at a certain address BEFORE the electoral roll started, the directory covers certain years. Also Pickards Pink Pages has a wealth of info for the Warks region.

Nudging for myself. Also tip; Through GENUKI site see if there's a chat line for your county, I'm in the Essex & the Suffolk one's and have had look ups in village PR's done by very kind local people. Mavis

Great info. What do people mean when they say they are going to 'nudge' this and how do you do it? Could anyone help knock down my present brick wall please? I have an ancestor circa 1796 that the census say he was born in Gt Yarmouth, Norfolk. I have searched the records at SoG but cannot find a baptism for him. Have found his marriage and his wive's baptism - can anyone suggest anything to help me further? Julie

One idea I found invaluable for my other half's tree is looking up people who are researching one name. I know there is a website for the list of people doing this (but I can never find it when I need it!) I am in a position where I no longer live in the UK and especially if the surname is unusual, it can give you a whole line. One kind individual sent me a line back to the mid 1600's that he had researched on one of my other half's names. Of course I am researching Bell's, Cooper's and Marshalls so this is not really a viable option for me...Still it keeps my other half happy to gloat about his tree to me (even though I am doing all the work)...TYPICAL!!! Hope this helps someone Andriea
