I know what 'Yeoman' means, but would anyone know what '...of the parish of Shipley in the 'family of Sussex Yeoman'...' means? (Wondering why it is worded 'family'.) Thank you, Lisa

Hi Lisa, Are you certain it says 'family' and not 'county'? 'in the County of Sussex Yeoman' would make perfect sense. Carole

Hi Carole. I thought it was County at first, but it looks like it is family, with the i dotted. After reading your suggestion, I used a magnifying glass and luciky the words Corn and Cattle are also in the will, and the first letter is not a small f -- it's a capital C. The 'dot' is just one of the many dots on the photocopied page. Thank you for your suggestion -- without it I wouldn't have looked so closely at the word (even though it made sense)! Thank you, Lisa
