Hello all, ~~~~~~~~~ hope you are all enjoying the sun today, it ia lovely here, warm and very sunny.
Have you all had a good weekend?
Just back from Christies, unfortunately not good news, the lump in my left breast is also cancerous, and the cancer in my back has become active again,
so next week I start the injection treatment on my back and carry on with the radiotherapy on both breasts. Think the disease must love me.lol. but at least I'm still alive.

Jean I am so sorry to hear that. I do hope you manage to cope with it all. it is a terrible strain and must be on your mind all the time. I am here if you need a chat you can PM me anytime.

I have been enjoying the sun I went to the shops and then came back and washed the cooker down and the kitchen floor. took the bucket and the mop into the bathroom as I put the water down the toilet pan did that and guess what ? Iput the bucket under the sink and there was a big spider I cannot beleive how many I am getting here now is there no end to them. I will have to keep my slippers on now I usually walk about in a pair of socks.but the thought of bid spiders is not a nice thought.

Shelly at least you knowwhere you ancestors lived. my Absalom I wish I could find but I have tried and tried to no avail.

Oh Jean I am gob smacked, this bloo*y disease seems to pick on the good people in this world, and the rotters get away scot free.
We are behind both you and Rita, hoping and praying they will soon find a way of killing this dreaded thing off.
Thinking of you my love.

Rita if I was you, I would get a carbon monoxide detector, as the gas man has suggested. We have got one, that we keep in the living room, close to our gas fire. We were recommended by our gas man to get one, when we had our fire serviced. Carbon monoxide is a silent killer. You can buy one from B+Q's.

Hm Shelly whats this then, favouritism, giving Stephen a big cup of char, and we get none. Thats not on dontcha know. I'm going to sulk now.At least Jean thought to make us one.
Is your house your own, or council. If it's council, couldn't you get a transfer
down this way.
I will go out searching the streets for you, if I find an empty four bedroomed house, I will squat in it till you can get here. LOL

Are you back yet Marilyn. You are such a busy bee, with all the entertaining
you do. I reckon you and Linda, should go onto the programme on the t.v
called come dine with me. We could all come along as the critics, just as long as I don't have to do any cooking, I don't want to poison you all.

Has our Pauline been on today, I can't remember who was on the last page.

Hi Stephen. My sons fiance's family live in Motherwell, and have a caravan
up near St Andrews golf club. I don't honestly know what the area is like, can you enlighten me please. From what I have been told it is not a brilliant place to live.

Purple **^*Sparkly*^** Diamond Report 16 Aug 2010 19:30

Here you are girls, this will show you what the son from NY is like, he prepared this list before he knew what shifts his dad is on - they are nights from 9.30pm till 6am Tuesday and Weds night and we leave on Friday early afternoon to go to hotel. Bear in mind o.h. will be sleeping Weds and Thursday to at least lunchtime!

Seems his priorities are more to his Mum and friend and little towards his Dad who coughs up most of the handouts! O.h. spoke to the bro gettin wed on Sunday evening and he is fed up with his bro, it's been arranged that o.h. spends time Fri evening with the two sons at their hotel only he will have to drive there as they won't have use of a car. That's after we have eaten and I will be left alone in the hotel room with a book and tv
Have warned son not to let him drink more than one drink as he has to drive back alone.

email from NY son: (funny I see little mention of his wife, suppose she will be left with his mum most of the time)
_________

My plans for my vist ..

Tuesday- arrive in L ,brother picks me up,suit fitting, then to house for the day to stay with bro.(my comment - poor bride to be, stuck with two guests at such a busy time, one of whom she doesn't know)
Wednesday- best friend picks me up from s head back to norfolk vist with mum drop luggage of then spend the day with best friend.
Thursday- spend the day with mum then night with brother drinks for the groom.
Friday - morning and afternoon open then night with brother in hotel getting ready be4 the the wedding day.
Saturday- Wedding day & night whoop .....
Sunday- most of the day free, night time movie the a-team with dan just need to pack stuff that i will be bring back from england clothes, pic, tools etc
Monday- flight departs late night

So dad pick a day or time we can catch up please when it best suits you let me know
_______

Now there are lots of tools and stuff here, in garage and loft, he hasn't talked to his dad about getting them together and I am wondering where he is getting the money for the extra baggage drills and such will cost him to take back - is he asking o.h. for yet more money?

He has already told him he can have money for his wedding present from over a year ago but he did already send some then, and he is giving the same amount to the son getting married this month. He forgets how much else he has given the NY son, it's so unfair on the other lad and he is starting to resent it cos he called me today and discussed the situation - the visit not the money. Said he doesn't want to end up resenting his brother but it's getting like that, he isn't happy about him bringing the wife at this late date either and wonders how much truth there has been in the stories of possibly losing their home, was it a ploy to get money from people here!

I got some nice black patent Lotus shoes on Sunday, had traipsed the shops on Saturday and not found anything, but remembered an out of town place and saw these pretty peetoe shoes, reduced from £60 to £35, would never normally be able to pay that much but o.h. said it was ok Have had some pics taken with the outfit on and will send to some of you for approval/comment If the weather is the way it is now, I will need full shoes not the sandals I had got and will need the jacket I bought too, have a lilac brolly handy already. Perhaps whoever gets the pics could forward them on so I can get an opinon from several of you please?

Catch up more later and will send pics then, must get some food now as I am famished. O.h. is on nights to 6am all this week so not much chance for me to do things in the afternoons as he is getting up and getting ready for work and is a real grump.

love to all, hope things go well for all who are having treatment, sorting things out whatever, last counselling session until after the wedding, and feeling very stressed about whether the son will turn up round here or not.

love
Lizxx

Hi Shelly

I sent a pic to Marilyn and to Just Jean, asked Marilyn to pass it on to some of you but not sure she is around at the mo.

I tried the dress on with a jacket I got, also with a pashmina and a shawl, in various shades and thickness depending on how warm or cool the day is, I also have a little black shrug which looked nice, so will get a pic of that as well and send. Not sure if I have your email addy or would send it direct to you. I am sure your opinion would be valuable, as long as you don't send it back with pmsl on lol

Thanks for the comments back, seems the jacket wins at the mo lol unless the weather is scorching when it will be far too hot to wear! Can't see it at the mo as the weather is so dreary but this family would fall in horsemuck and come up smelling of roses, the jammy lot lol

Been wearing my shoes in and feel pretty comfy so far.

Oh and Shelly, I wouldn't do that, even if you did laugh, there are more ladylike and subtle ways of getting revenge lol

Message for Mo.
Motherwell is a typical suburban area. Like most of the towns surrounding it all the heavy industry has gone leaving the population having to struggle to find employment. There are lots of lovely places to go within a very short drive of the town. Lanark Heritage Village is most certainly one I would visit if I was in Motherwell.
Where the caravan is at St. Andrews is really nice and lots of really beautiful fishing villages close by on the Fife Coastal Route. Hope this helps.

Enjoy the tea. Have a good 'blether'.

Morning Stephen
Thanks for the cuppa. Really need one this morning. It's OK about the biscuits as I don't eat them anyway and still watching what I eat too, Dr's orders.
Where you live does sound nice, only really been to Scotland once and unfortunately we had 2 weeks in a camper van with rain every day, in August !!!
Having said that it is wet here this morning. So glad I got washing done and dried yesterday afternoon when we got back from our railway trip. We had a nice time, found out where the court was from the station. All sorted now and he is OK about the trian times too and where to get his ticket.
I have to go through paperwork today and get my accounts in some sort of order. So I will be busy when he goes to work later.

Have a good day everyone

Hi everyone

Jean sorry to hear of your bad news, hopefully the treatment will keep it in check. I'll be thinking of you.

Liz, saw the photo's and the dress is lovely and I think the jacket would be great, it matches the lilac in the dress. I know it may be difficult but try not to worry about the wedding, just enjoy yourself and if NY son is bringing wife it will be a good chance to get to know her.

Morning to those who I have not said that too earlier.
I have had a hecktic day. I went into Woking to the Bank then brought my Elontric Carbon Monoxide Alarm at the gas engineer advised me yesterday. cost my £26.99 but have 5 years on it.
The Town was packed with people amd loads of kids. I went and brought some items from Sainsbury;s while there . when I got to the cash desk I found I had to wizz everything through the machine myself. it took ages (they are doing people out of work with these machines ) anyway I was going to pay by card and the machine refused me three times so I said to the women who came to help hell I will pay cash guess what the machine would not even take my £20 note. I said forget it. she said we will try again it worked. ? bring back the good cashiers I say.
Then I went to the stop to catch the bus home and saw a young women about 35 maybe a little older but not much come across the crossing with her children 7 one litttle one was holding her hand she must have been about three the other about a year inbetween all filing behind each other across the road. it was so comical to watch peopole were saying look at all her children. I said they are all well dressed and look healthy so whats wrong ?
I managed to get a car to take me to the hospital next monday for my scan so I am pleased about that . I can tick that off my list.

Liz I forgot to tell you wear the Cardigan you look younger in that the schawl makes you look like me and old grannie.

Love

I ment to tell you my friend brought me over Septembers "Family Tree " Magazine it is very intereting.
a few pages inside I saw a photo of Nick Clegg with a 1921 feedback visit http://yourfreedom.hmg.gov.uk/
but what caught my eye was Guy Etchells name (you may know he has a thread on here )
anyway this article said restoring civil liberties/allow access to the 1921 census.
Guy Etchells campaign for early release of the 1921 census
Nick Glegg requests a feedback from the public on possible acts of Parliament to be repealed could help with this with the repeal of the c ensus.

Hi all.
First of all, Liz I like the dress with the jacket, far more than with the shawl.
As Rita said the shawl is to old looking for you, and does not do the dress justice.

Stephen, thanks very much for the info on the Motherwell area. My son has been up there with his fiance, to visit granny and pops, and will be going back up again at the end of the month, to celebrate grans 70th birthday. My son was at one time thinking about moving up there, to look for work, but it's just as well he didn't, if jobs are that hard to come by.
He found employment locally, thank god.

Marilyn, you could pop in and see Liz, the wedding is not till the bank holiday weekend.
Anyway, you have got your hard hat, you could wear that, just stick a flower in it, and pretend to be a guest.

Rita, I know the price of the carbon monoxide reader was quite dear, but it's worthwhile investing in it, your life is worth a lot more than that.
What time is your appointment at the hospital next monday. I am pleased you managed to get a car booked, it saves a lot of messing about doesn't it.

Hi Jean, Linda, Pauline,Shelly, Yvonne, Lady.
