There must be some kind of time delay in my room, I watched it but it has just ended.
Some very nice young man came up with room service and to twiddle with my knobs on the telly.
He looked like a young Omar Sharriff. He was perfectly charming. He started telling me about life in India, and all I could see was that jet black hair and perfect teeth.
So, er, how did the dancing go?

Eeeerrrrmmm.
Between the gap I was talking to the Omar lookalike about the British Empire.
He kept on calling me Memsaab inbetween showing me some book with strange pictures in it.
They were drawings really. Beautifully painted pictures.
The book was called some like Cammi Sutres.
Something to do with first aid I think. PMSL.

Good morning Team GR.
It's the big day. Now the whole world(well nearly the whole world) gets to see us.
Good news.
Our Team will be led by the Massed Ceremonial Band of The Royal Marines. The lead of tune will be..... 'Hearts of Oak'.....the marching tune of the Royal Navy. You can all pick a favourite tune you want played to do our grand parade. Anything goes...these boys are good.
How did I swing that? My cousin was an Officer in the SBS and knows the former RM Director of Music. He is also a pal of Tom McLeans. They met on a joint SAS/SBS mission, and thats how I got to meet Tom, through my Cousin.
Enough rambling on......pick your Tunes, dress in the Team Colours, lets give them the WOW FACTOR.
Thats if you can drag yourselves away from the Omar lookalikes......LOL
See you on parade.

I was at a Birthday celebration last night it was a dear friends 70th.A total surprise for her she didn't know we were planning it. Sadly her hubby died a few years ago. The family asked me to stand in for Jim, her hubby. As I did the opening speech, standing beside Theresa, the tears started to roll down her cheeks. She was obviously thinking of Jim and his not being there. I felt honoured to be given his place but had my own thoughts of how much I too miss him. We spent many days in the mountains together and shared many things. The evening went well and Theresa was surrounded by her family and friends that love her so much. I'm sure she enjoyed it. And no doubt Jim was up there watching it all.

Good Morning Ladies and Gents.
Excuse me, I HAVE been working. Been for a run this morning already. I have also been to the little Florist that I made contact with from London. Our flowers will be sent to the Hotel this morning. They are ready for us.
Really lovely lady I spoke to. She has made us each a sheath of flowers. Lillies, Lotus and Orchids. Various shades of red, white and blue. The smell is going to be wonderful. She has carefully removed all of the pollen stems, so no danger of our clothes being covered.
MARINES. How fabulous. All those terrific men in uniform. I can hardly contain myself. Those Brycleme Boys are super, but a MARINE. Lordy.
I know it will not be suitable for our lap in the Stadium, but can I hear NIMROD. It makes me really proud when I hear that. Truly splendid piece of music.
OK, then orft to get ready.
See you on Parade.

Isn't this exciting today it all starts. all of us ready and waiting. I have been told out team has been picked to have lunch with Prince Charles and The Dutchess of Cornwall. we must be on our best behaviour and will be met by the British Ambassdor . Stephen my favourite tune is "Amazing Grace " it brings tears to my eye's but gives me a tonic. makes me feel better in my self.
So let's put our feet forward and face the Commonwealth and show them all is not lost Britian flies the flag ot Banner whichever you wish to call it. ?and show them all. we still carry the GREAT in front of Britian.

I'm a bit late because I've been doing a lot of training, got to make sure we do our best.
Lovely flowers for us to carry Maddie, glad she remembered to cut out the pollen stems, we couldn't have any marks on our lovely dresses.
My dad was in the Royal Navy, I used to play Hearts of Oak on a kazoo when I was a kid. My choice of tune would be Rule Britannia - let them know where we're from.
I could bring my kazoo and join in with the Marines when they play Hearts of Oak.

LOL Rita, Marilyn made a good choice starting a day before anyone else..............she had nobody to beat. Maybe we should all start today - we could get all the medals while the others are still marching round with their flags.
We could do the 3-legged race today Marilyn, because I don't think anyone else is in it.
Linda, I think you're in table tennis and archery. I know Rita is in the gymnastics with Shelly.
Can't remember what anyone else is in, has anyone got the list?

I've been up in my room marching.
Stephen said we had to practice. So I have been. I feel a right pillock now ...............................
I think I am entered for the three-legged race cos I have an advantage. You wouldnt tell, cos my extra leg disappears when I whistle. Brilliant.
Pleased you like the flowers, we can use the fridge in the kitchen to keep them cool, otherwise they will wilt in this heat.
Have we GOT to meet Charlie and Camilla. I feel so strongly about THAT WOMAN. Mind you if he had married her when he had the opportunity, all that heartache could have been avoided. I dunno.
Gonna do a bit of baton twirling with my ribbon now, unless there is something else I should be doing.
