OH had to stay and take MIL home afterwards as well as he said she was in a lot of pain, so he still isn't home yet! She stopped taking the painkillers she got from the pain clinic as she said they weren't curing things so I'm not surprised. She wouldn't go back to the same hospital this time, so hence the lengthy trek to Leicester from their house. OH will have done about 70 miles by the time he gets home....not sure he'll still be up for Matlock. Already 2 phone messages from MIL since OH dropped them at home, 1 to say there was no blade for the new saw, the next to say they'd found it.

Morning everyone It's cloudy, windy but still very dry and I think I shall have to give the garden a good soaking tonight.Have been reading the posts for the last few hours and can say that skipping is alive and well in Berko!! We had fun with Hazel and DIL last week trying to teach Hazel using the washing line in therir garden. Must admit that I could only turn ther rope with my knackered knees but DIL was quite the expert. The old games are still out there! DIL's sister has had herr baby, a boy called Bruno which has suprised us all as most of the children born in DIL's family have been girls. He really is going to have his work cut out to be the boss!! Sheila Delighted to hear that you are now a grannie. Frank Conrads garden looks wonderful. We bought some black grass from Bransdale about three years ago and it has also died over trhe winter.I love Rutland and Conrad is so lucky to live there. Maureen Poor Alfie give him a hug from me. He looks so adorable in the photographs. Talking of collars; Does anyone know where I can get a collar to keep the water out of Hazels eyes when she is having her hair washed. I think I have said previously that she hates anyone going near her hair and she screams when it is being washed. I thought that a collar might help but cannot find one anywhere. They used to be in the form of flowers but seem really scarce now. Went to a meeting last night and the speaker was talking about Moldover and the poverty there is just unimaginable and this is a European Country. We are so lucky to live here and we sometimes forget this as we take so much for granted. Willclimb down from my soap box now and get on preparing more info for MIL for later. :D

Frank thanks for those emails. I must send them on to my friend Sylvia who does tapestry, if that's ok with you. She and her late husband were involved with craft groups and he did a lot of painting as well. She is my Somerset friend and is 81 years old. She lives with her cat Bella and corgi Lady. She used to breed corgis and Himalyan cats.
Hope you had a more restful night with less pain!
Speaking of better days, we were gone from dawn 'til dusk. Lots of street cricket and I used to walk across two busy roads to the local pool as a 7 year old. Never had any fear and I always arrived home safely.

Afternoon all,
Been to the car boot this morning , DIL bought a doll for Katie and some cars for Jake ,Chelsea had lots of little pieces for her dolls ,bottles ,rattles and brush and comb etc ,all for £4, bargain !! We then went to Tesc*'s and i'am just home .
I remember dad used to play skipping with me ,one end of the rope tied to a post and poor dad having to turn the rope , i also use to like the french skipping ,where you had all those elastic bands linked together, and you jumped in the middle and twisted them round your ankles .
Got to have a go at making a birthday cake this afternoon , thought i would try making a tray bake ,i don't have a recipe for one ,i just thought i'd do a normal sponge mix and allow a little extra time in the oven , trial and error really ,Jake wants one for his birthday with jelly sweets all on the top ,so i said i'd have a go at one ,if it turns out ok i'll do him one for the weekend ,and we can eat this trial one. Well i'am glad other people have carpet in their sheds ,son thought it was funny putting carpet down ,but it does stop the dust !!
Still no rain here ,just windy with lovely sunshine and it seems warmer today .

Decking is all finished, son has done a great job he even made me some planters with the deck boards that were left over. When I've stained it and put pots and things on I will send you a photo. I was standing leaning on the post of one of the panels. Son said, what are you doing, I said, surveying my land !!!! he gave a snort. It does feel very posh.
We used to play out in the street all the time, there were very few cars in those days, and I guess there were not nice people back then but nothing like today. We used to sit on the front step playing jacks, and there was always a hopscotch chalked on the pavement and we didn't have to go far up the alley to find a bit of slate, we played 'what's the time mister wolf' too and all the girls would run away screaming.
Two days late already, I'm beginning to think maybe it is a boy after all, everytime the phone rings I think, this is it.

SODS LAW!!! I cut the lawns this morning, and thought I would give the back lawn and flower beds a good soaking After about one and a half hours it started to rain. Not much but enought to wet the patio. So will see how it goes, I will have to water the greenhouse later.
Ann, You certainly seem to have your hands full with the in-laws. Poor you. You must want to pull your hair our sometimes.
Anne, He (CONRAD) is so lucky living in that area. very close to Rutland Water. with two golf courses close by. There are some lovely villages around there also. Barnsdale is only a few minutes from him. We pop in there sometimes when we go up. Congratulations AUNTIE.

Don't panic Frank. Here I am.I have been a busy little Bee today. After sorting out all neighbours plants and then watering all out garden ,I got stuck into trying to research some things for Fitz.I've been at it nearly all day lol. Then I went to the vets to get Chesters food as there is none in yet at the pet shop. But the Vets couldn't get it in.So I was a bit stumped as I just have just enough for one more meal.I then went to Tes** and have bought a lot of white fish and rice which I am cooking up now.He will have to have that, and he will love it.It will be like a treat. Now I have to get dinner on before I go at 6 to pick Hannah up.It's all go lol Chris is in Cambridge and will be back a little bit late.
Haven't had chance to catch up on posts yet.BBL

I have been shopping this afternoon so thats why I was'nt around.
We have salad for dinner and OH said if he eats much more he will look like a lettuce but I told him I have prawns and mussles srimps and crab sticks for him and that calmed him down. I shall probably have tuna with mine. Also got one of those nice sunflower seed breads in a round and he likes that.
Bought some more plants, trailing lobelia, ivy geraniums, 2 yellow courgette plants and another cherry tomatoe. Two grow bags too.
When I got home OH had moved one of the concrete troughs from up th etop and put it against the bungalow where he put trellis up a couple of years ago and now I have something to plant in. Clemetis I think as I have some of those that need planting. Then he went up and brought down the other one so now I have two outside.
Jane how is Hannah now after her disappointment with that placement? and have you heard anything about her house? Tell her Mel sends a big (((((((hug)))))))

I did pork, fried in Olive oil, and added loads of different veg, fried that off on high heat and added a chinese sauce. Even though I say it myself it was handsom. Ros never left a bit of it.!!!
Watered the greenhouse, and Patio. the rain didn't stay long. It's now a very nice evening, with high clouds They say it will be very warm tomorrow.
We have to be at Woodside Hospital for 12.00 tomorrow for Ros's back. Hope he can do something about it, she can't go on with this pain. When she was at the doctors this morning she asked about a new leg !!! He said "NEW LEG" Dept. down the coridor, and laughed. He said she has to ask, if he can refer her to a surgeon, who would be willing to try to operate on her. We will know more tomorrow.
When I get back it will be shorts, and lounger in the garden. Provided I don't find jobs to do.!!!

Hello all,
Had a sick turn last night, so I have been in bed all day, almost like the life has drained out of me. Still here, though!!! I was watching Embarassing Bodies with Drs. Dawn, Christian and Pixie - maybe all those bits got to me, who knows!!!!!
We had some heavy rain last night, thankfully for the garden. My photinias are being eaten by something at the moment - lines of little green eggs on the new growth and a little insect flying around. Do any of you gardeners have any thoughts? I don't think it's aphids and hubby would have to buy the right pesticide as I can't be around chemicals. I don't want to kill them as they add such lovely colour and only planted 12 months ago.
Frank wish Ros all the best from me. Thoughts are with you both. I sent the tapestry emails on to Sylvia. She loved them too!!
Keith is cooking turkey wings and roast vegetables tonight, not sure if I will be eating, but lovely aromas are coming from the kitchen.
Off to the couch, nearly time for the evening news.

Morning All
Was frozen last night when I got in from the cinema, they had the air conditioning on and everybody was huddled under coats. Was a good film if you like that sort of thing, We all like Johnny Depp but I found it strange having to wear those 3d glasses, prefer to not to wear them.
Weather sunny, then we have a great downpour and it's still very very windy. have my heating on this morning just for a short while, a bit chilly.
Sorry you weren't well yesterday KIM with a tummy bug, makes you feel right out of sorts.
Keeping fingers crossed for ROZ, at the hospital Frank,
OH says it looks like he might get Monday off and we will be able to go down to England for my Cousin-in-law funeral, I haven't seen any of my English relatives since my mothers funeral back in 1999, there's a lot of catching up to do.
