Frank, photos are never boring. I'v now got a special Genes folder set up full of all the photos received. My birthday is 2nd June, so I will be expectantly :D waiting - Irises and freesias are my favourites thanks. Jane what do you like best? You could probably get a discounted rate with Interflora if you order several arrangements!!!! :P :P :P I love earrings too, so if you're feeling generous a small pair would do nicely!!!!! hahaha Off you go and do the shopping.
I remember Tesco's; my first MIL worked in the one in Yeovil. She was very efficient on the checkout.
Fiona, that lady must feel like the carpet has been pulled out from under her!! What a dilemma for her and losing a sister so suddenly like that.
I'm backwards and forwards between the AFL and the rugby league and there's some chocolate around somewhere. I hid it and can't remember where. Daughter always eats it before I get a look in.

Just getting over a BIG SHOCK!!!!!!!!! :O
OH phoned from work to say daughter no 2 & boyfriend are in Inverness hospital following a car accident but apart from a few bumps and a fractured hand (boyfriend) they are all right , daughters boyfriend lost control of the car after it skidded and ended up side down in a ditch , The police were straight on the scene and said the hired car was a right off, none else was involved seemingly the car should never have been on the road, 1 tyre was bald, 1 was a snow tyre, should not have been on the car in the first place, they said boyfriend should have checked all this before he took the car, his father is dealing with the car problems.
anyway the main thing is that they are both all right, they are going to stay with boyfriends parents for another night in during which time they will have to organise how they are getting home. We might have to go up for them, but we do not know yet, OH says there's no need to rush up to Inverness today, OH has come home and is working from here now. PHEW I have finely stopped shaking.

Oh my goodness Fiona.Thank heavens they are not badly hurt. What a shock for you.It sounds as thought they got away quite lightly. That Hire company are definitely in the wrong for hiring out the car in an unroadworthy condition. It is not up to the person who hires the car!!!!.I hope they don't get off Scot Free.I'm glad your OH is home now.
Kim tomorrow a friend of Hannah's is staying the night. She is an Australian girl and stayed with us for Xmas.I think she is from somewhere near Sydney.I will ask her tomorrow

Better start growing your own Frank, it's going to cost you a fortune otherwise, loved the photos when were they taken. I didn't imagine Ros to look like that, for me the name Ros conjures up a very slim person, which she probably is now having lost 5 stone.
I'm having one of those 'getting nothing done'' days so must shift myself in a minute. Can't even put it off till tomorrow as I'm off to youngest daughters, we are going bridal gown shopping and Sunday over to see the new baby.
When you said fa*t ars**ing about Kim it brought back memories of my old dad, that was one of his favourite sayings, and he always used words like 'thingymebob, whachamacallit and howsyourfather'.
It's probably a good idea to check your receipt, although I never do, my mum was charged twice for something and it always seems to be the more expensive item.

Goodness, Fiona, have just seen your post, that must have given you a real shock, at least daughter and boyfriend aren't badly hurt, that's the main thing. Surely it's not up to the person hiring a car to check out tyres etc. what if the brakes were faulty you wouldn't know that until it was too late.

Hi Everyone. Firstly thanks for all the photographs and jokes of the last few days. Sorry I have not posted but have been suffering with a terrific headache which was a side effect of the HRT cream Dr prescribed. I have been wandering around the house in sunglasses and have only used the computer briefly to check e mails. Have been planting things in trhe border today as the soil is now nice and damp after a couple of days of heavy showers. Fiona Hope your daughter and boyfriend are ok. Hubby always checks hire cars and even takes photographs before he leaves the company as he had a problem a few years ago so be warned everyone. Hubby back from his travels on Sunday so life will return to normal again. No more trips to the garden centre( ours has just been refurbished and is fantastic) and long coffee breaks with friends. No more Sci fi just good old companionshipand a warm bed!!. :-) :-) :-)

Just read about your daught0er, Fiona. Glad they are allright. The car hire company should be responsible for the condition of the car before they rent it out !!!! Have a word with the POLICE/SOLICITOR. Then sue the Bast### Those children could have been killed.

Evening everyone,
Thank goodness no one was badly hurt Fiona , how many people would check a hire car !! when you hire you expect the car to be fit to drive , not have a bald tyre , that's just terrible !! what a shock for you to get a phone call like that .
Thanks for the photo's Frank, you look like you had a great time, and what a treat to have it all paid for you .
Maureen , loved the paddy jokes , been giggling since i read them , have sent them on to son , thanks too for the photo's , what a dear little boy , he's growing up so fast , can also see the decking coming along and your lovely Clematis on the wall.
Jane, your friends cottage looks lovely with the roses , it's the sort you see on the chocolate boxes or jigsaw puzzles !! I think i would worry about having a fire if i lived in a thatched place , bet the insurance is high for a cottage like that .
Been a funny old day , black clouds one minute then bright sun shine , much cooler though .
There was a wedding this morning at the church, i can see them from my kitchen window , the bells were tolling for a funeral !! then all of a sudden i saw the vicar running to the bell tower and the bells stopped and started ringing for the wedding !!! i thought it was funny everyone was dressed in bright colours and fancy hats for a funeral LOL
Anne, i do hope your headache eases for you, have you any photo's of your new garden ?
Any one doing any thing exciting this bank holiday weekend ??

Jane I have replied to your PM
Mandy Yes but I cannot put them on until hubby gets back as I am not very good at technical things. Will get some sent next week. It's a beautiful evening here and the birds are singing away. We have a song thrush which sings for hours from dawn to dusk and its glorious. The house martins and swifts are flying overhead and a light breeze is blowing. It is a proper summers evening. The weatrher forcast is for rain overnight but another nice day tomorrow so I will wander into the market in the morning then I had better do some housework before hubby comes home on Sunday. Frank It sounds as though you had a very hectic trip and the photos are great. We are going to LA in September and are not quite sure what to expect. Where did you stay and was it a good experience? Being an outdoors man hubby is a bit sceptical but I am looking forward to the O>T>T> thing. Like yourselves we will only be there for 2 nights and we are going to see a show on the second night ( Cirque de soliel Beatles Show) Fiona Pleased to hear that your daughter and boyfriend are ok :-)

Hannah's friend is now not coming to stay tomorrow.I have hoovered the stairs ,washed the floors and cleaned the kitchen!!!!!!!.The bathroom and bedroom can wait now lolol :D

Jane, just phoned daughter no 2 again, she is ok, a bit sore where she bumped her head, and a big bruise from the seat belt. Story goes so far, No idea how boyfriend lost control of car but it seemed to roll over and over a few times landing in a ditch at the side of the road on its roof , ditch which was full of heather and brambles. car was a 2 door fiesta and they could not open the doors or windows, so they undid the seat belts and boyfriend climbed to the back where the window was broken and managed to smash it open with his hand , he's only got a cut, not a fracture it seems, it is usually a very quiet road, but today there was quite a few cars going past and a car stopped and it was a lady who was an St Johns Ambulance member, she got out to help and phoned the police. when they arrived they breathalysed daughters boyfriend but were happy to see that he was sober .
they did a lot of checking over the car and saw that it had a very bald tyre, which is illegal, also a snow tyre which should never have been on at all. Boyfriend dad spoke to car hire firm and they are making arrangements for the car to be collected and brought home. what the outcome with them is , we don't know yet. and that's all we know so far , will get more details from them tomorrow.
But they are both fine and as you say it will probably be tomorrow when they wake up that they may find more bumps and bruises.
I'm going for a bath, as I need to relax, my mind keeps going round and round just thinking how lucky they were.
Hey July 28Th Jane was my mum & dad's wedding anniversary.
