Evening all,

Been busy again , hubby has put some more little lights out the back , blooming things were working when i plugged them in , by the time they were in the Honeysuckle only some bulbs were lit !!!
Had to go along the string and try to find the bulb that needed replacing !!
good job we have a bulb tester and plenty of spare bulbs ,took ages ,but they are all working now .
Now the wind is going to get up they will probably be blown all over the place !!!
Storm on its way according to the weather man !!

I must get some presents wrapped this evening ,i haven't wrapped any yet and the spare bed is full of them .
I'll just make a cuppa ,then i'll get started .

Jane Report 12 Dec 2011 18:38

Mandy I think I am going to get my Christmas wreath in .The wind has really got up in the last 10 minutes.Looks like it is going to be pretty nasty. :-S :-S
I don't think it will be a very nice dog walk in the morning :-S.I may even put Chester's coat on him.he will be pleased (not).

MillymollyAmanda

MillymollyAmanda Report 12 Dec 2011 18:50

Think i might do that to Jane, don't want to lose it !!
Toby doesn't mind the wind so much when he's walked ,he so busy with his nose to the ground i don't think he notices the wind .

My sisters dog ( Abbey a black Lab ) went into a ditch the other day ,sister said she came out with all this black mud all over her !!! sister had to get her in the shower when she got home she said she reeked !!!!!!!

She managed to get Abbey in the shower and she not keen to go in ,sister then realised she hadn't pulled the cord outside the shower so she then had to get herself back out with out letting Abbey out ,what a job she had !!! now she puts her on the lead when they get near the ditch !!!!

Chester will say "NOT THE DREADED COAT"

Happy birthday to your daughter Kim. forgot this morning.

Ros sleept like a log this afternoon, A pride of lions came in the lounge, and she scared them off with her snooring :-D :-D :-D I think she feels a little better this evening.

The outside lights are dancring around well in the wind. Hope they stay up.

Still no news then Mel.

Ros didn't make a cake this year, we don't tend to eat it and thow it out come SUMMER TIME.

Enjoy your line danceing, Pat. lay off the wine or you will be dancing all the way home as well.

Going to watch the footy tonight. Chelsea V Man. City. Should be a good match. any excuse for a couple of pints.

Jane

Jane Report 12 Dec 2011 19:38

Frank ,make sure you don't get blown over in the wind ;-).Glad Ros is feeling better tonight.
Mandy I remember when Chester leapt into a stinky bog.He loved it ,but came out looking a different colour and stinking to high heaven :-S :-S.
He used to like rolling in Fox Poo.I don't let him off the lead now.The smell in the car driving home made me heave all the way :-| :-|
I can hear the wind whipping up now.I think you may get it worse than Frank or me
You know we were talking about paper chains the other day.I still haven't seen any in the shops.I do remember folding bits of white paper and cutting patterns in to make them look like snowflakes. It was always exciting at school this time of year making decorations for the classroom.Big paste brushes in those jam jars and all that gooey paste.I remember at my first Primary School walking up to the local church with my recorder and playing 'The Holly and the Ivy'.I think that is one of my favourite Christmas songs.
Also Carol Singing ,when we (the church choir) would sing around the village and end up at Sir Henry Studholme's big house for mince pies and mulled wine.Well not mulled wine for us kids .We carried jam jars with candles in.Thinking back now it was heck of a trek to the big house and then we had to walk all the way back home .But it was great fun.

Everything is down from the loft now, so tomorrow I shall get the decs up at last......this is late for me this year. There was another mouse in the trap......little blighters are still moving in!!!

We found a loo seat that fit but we'd have to change the brackets and that would mean removing the fitted toilet to do it!!! So for now, the rickety old one is staying!! I'll see if I can find the bill to see what sort it was and then google it to try and find a cheap one on line. I don't want to use the spare one yet as once that is gone I might not be able to get another in a few years anyway.

I had a postman arrive in a rentavan to bring me a parcel today. They have said they are using more vehicles and sorting offices this year.

I'm glad they were able to do something to fix your window Mel even if it cost a bit. Better than the rain getting in. I bet the chickens will be wishing they were ducks tomorrow. The wind is lashing the rain against the windows here at the moment. I think OH will be a drowned rat when he gets home.

We watched a very old Tommy Cooper Christmas Show I had recorded last night. Some of his humour is timeless and we were chuckling away!! We think it was probably from the 70s......Sacha Distell and Clodagh Rogers were the guests singing with enormous microphones. lol

MillymollyAmanda Report 12 Dec 2011 20:09

They had paper chains in the pound shop ,DIL got some for the little ones to make .
I remember the making snow flakes ,also little paper lanterns at school, fold a piece of paper in half cut some slits along and then fold it together and put a handle on the top.

I think my favourite carol is Silent Night followed by In the Bleak Mid Winter.
Does anyone ever have any Carol Singers come round , i remember last year two little boys came round sang two lines of a carol ,and then held their hands out ...little devils lol i said very nice and shut the door !!!

Jane Report 12 Dec 2011 20:15

LOL Ann .I was trying to think who was talking of spare loo seats .It was YOU.
I am pretty sure we have a spare in the loft for the main bathroom toilet.I do hope so.
Your little friends obviously love your loft don't they.We still have them in the garage. We have a veg rack in there and I put a cauliflower in there the other day. When I went to get it ,it was covered in mouse poo and chomped to bits :-S
Sorry to say ....more poison put down :-S

That wind is really sounding strong. It is coming down the chimney even with the fire lit.I think that is why I can smell the wood smoke so strongly .

Oh Sacha was quite a heart throb wasn't he ;-),and Clodagh with her lovely hair. That takes me back a bit lol
Off to dish up dinner now .

Jane Report 12 Dec 2011 21:05

That's good Fiona. You can save some pennies now no more "expense' ;-)
I remember making those lanterns Mandy and yes sticking the handles on the top lol.Sometimes they stuck and sometimes not :-S.I often wonder what my Mum and Dad REALLY thought of those wonderful creations lol.Probably very proud ,like I was with my 2 when they brought these things home, and of course they had to have pride of place :-D

Dental appt tomorrow. Upper R back tooth extraction.

Years ago in another house I'd a steel bath that had the enamel paint missing on the bottom, about the size of a fifty pence.I bought a little tin of Humbrol enamel paint and covered the gap with two coats. I let it dry then a couple of hours later ran a bath. When I got out my rse was covered in white paint.Ellen scrubbed it off with turps, took quite a while :-S :-S

Back from the pub, got soaked going and coming back. Overcoat over the back of the chair, gloves and hat on radiator, NEVER KNOW A NIGHT LIKE IT. old advert for a beer. if you remember it.

Heard from Harvey tonight. The test show he has, HELICABACTER. also OESOPHAGITIS. Jane Chris will know what it is, no doubt. Can he explain. They think is started from tablets he use to take for migrane. Have taken three samples for biopsy, so will know more later.

Lewis is at the match tonight, so he will be pleased that Chelsea won 2-1.

We still have bits, that Conrad and Harvey made at school. But not on display.

See you in the morning

Hello everyone, sleeping well I trust.

Had my Egg & Bacon McMuffin, plus some greasy bacon and another egg that Keith cooked. Stomach is rolling around and I'm due to get in the shower.

A bit more sun today after yesterday's floods.

Mandy great photos of the little ones with Santa and my card was in the photo next to the tree.

Maureen my card arrived yesterday, thank you. A lovely hand-painted scene, everyone commented on it and said how creative my UK friends are. Daughter loved your jewellery Ann. The family looks forward to seeing any photos as much as I do. Joel loves the countryside and all the historic buildings.

Have a good day, hope it is not toooooooo cold for you.

Evening Kim
Morning Mel

Mel , I hope you get this solar business sorted, if it was us with the same problem I think the air would be blue with OH.

We Still have not heard from Builders , but OH says the longer time they don't come . the less distruption we have over Christmas, I suppose he is right.

Frank , poor Harvey, I certainly know about Helicobacter, it's a rotten feeling. antibiotics made me feel worse than the illness it's self.

Going for a shower then, daughter no 1 and Sofia coming for lunch then it's off to the shops.
