Thank you all for my lovely cards. Especially Ann as I know just how much work went into yours and one of my favorite birds.

My Moonpig box contained a mug with a picture of me on it when we were on holiday on the narrow boat and it had two teabags in it! and Happy Birthday on the back.

I don't think I have had such nice cards for many years........

Thanks once again everyone. <3 <3 <3 <3

Clouded over here now , i went down to the water butt to get some water for the indoor plants , we had stood a tub under the over flow pipe ,i went to the tub to get some water from there and there was a huge solid lump of ice floating in the tub ,i couldn't lift it out , it was about four inches thick !!!!

Glad you had some lovely cards Mel, i had a nice one from Ann too ,she painted snow drops on mine it's really pretty , hope your enjoying your day .

Pat , your poor little Mocha , you would have thought the cough would have cleared up by now ,i think your doing the right thing taking him back to the vet .
Getting them to tiddle outside seems to take for ever ,but you will get there ,he is still young ,as for being left , you could try leaving the radio on when you go out , have you got him a soft toy to cuddle up with or even better an old t shirt or some thing of yours with your smell on so he feels that your there .

When I was a schooll boy I had difficulty reading what the teacher chalked on the black board.
Eventually the teacher twigged I needed my eyes tested and had a letter sent to my parents.
It was arranged that I have my eyes tested at
HAMBLINS OPTHALMIC EMPORIUM
Newcastle.
After the sight test the optician said to my Father "he needs glasses, and one of his eyes is nearer the ear than the other"
At that my Father bristled and replied there's nothing wrong with him. <3
Happy memories

Happy Birthday Melanie x

William Report 14 Feb 2012 14:46

Afternoon everyone.

First of all a VERY VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MEL,

To all you other lady's - A VERY HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY TO YOU, here's some recycled roses! \*@*@*/

Next, so sorry to hear you're still unwell Frank, I've rubbed a bit of Vic on this posting to help you get well sooner. Hope it works, it's making the screen weep anyway...

We went along to do our few bits of shopping etc this morning, it was fairly mild to start with but by the time we made our way back for lunch the wind had got a keen edge to it. An elderly lady had a nasty fall on the pavement edge and we waited with her till the paramedic car arrived to check her over. Please God, give my Heaven Assessment a tick...

Well, Ann, I'm wondering if whatever charity shop you take your clear-out bags to, does a scan through your bags, they'll be thinking you run an Ann Su**ers shop!!! It did make me laugh...
Also, I'm glad you're like me, I don't watch any of the so called 'reality' programmes at all and have no wish to do so, anymore than I want to watch awards programmes. I wonder that they don't have a programme for the best awards programme! I have no wish to watch anyone eating witchiti (??) grubs or worse, people swearing or blaspheming (although that sounds like any after 9pm film!!!) or any other petty drivel. I could have more fun listening to the patients down at our doctors surgery. Having said that, I'm off after this to watch last nights Whitechapel..
Anyway, I can't wait for the next instalment of 'What lurks at the bottom of your garden' - you sure it's not the Twilight Zone down there?

I was in for an over-breakfast lecture from Carmel this morning. "It's Valentine's Day" she said. "And I've been thinking of your situation with the Big Bad Black Moggy. Think back to the pet cats we've had, of all the love we bestowed on them - and how we were rewarded with all the devotion that they gave back in return. Maybe if you could find it in your heart to love BBBM, perhaps he'd take his toilet torments elsewhere. He may even taking his feeding fetish to someone elses bird table. As the song say, 'Love Changes Everything' - it's worth a try."
I thought about her pearls of wisdom, her compassion, the eloquence of her words, said with the passion of all the poets of Erin's green isle. I smiled and thought kind thoughts as I took the trash out to our bin at the side of our house. On the way back, I spotted BBBM cowering at the bottom of our garden, eyeing me warily. A warmth flowed over me, inspiration filled my heart. Then I yelled - B O G O F F C A T!!!! - and he fled up over our neighbours lawn, digging up divots as he fled for his life.
Ah well, some romances take a little longer.

Well, have a good day all, as Arnie say, I'll be back . . . . .

Oh dear Frank I am so sorry you are feeling grotty. Am sending my love and wishes. Hope you feel better soon.

I missed my BIG card in the box with my mug in it. Once again it is a pic of me on holiday on the boat when it was moored in one of our favourite places.

Then a big white van came down the drive as I was fiddling with chickens things and he delivered a great big box, once again from Moonp*g. when opened it contained a dozen red roses and a valentine card which is a pic I took of oh on holiday fishing off the front of the boat. He said he had an awful job finding the pics on my pooter. I had to laugh, so now he knows what a job I have!!!!

Still having a nice day but the weather has turned very cold with a north wind. What do they say, or what was it my dad used to say.

The north wind doth blow,

and we shall have snow,

and what will cock Robin do then poor thing?

Your task is to finish the ryme.......

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 14 Feb 2012 15:43

Still laughing at your posts William.

I can just imagin you looking down the garden with smoke coming out of your ears as you yell at BBB Moggy. My hubby has a water squirter with a censor on it that c an be used to frighten cats away and anything else that comes near his kio pond. He caught his brother with once in the summer. It soaked poor Robert.

Frank .Nurse Jane is on call if you need her :-D.Hope tomorrow is a better day for you. What is Lewis doing while his Pappy is poorly?

Pat I would get back to the vet if I was you.I don't like the sound of Mocha 'rattling'.Poor little devil ,he's so young.I hope he can be sorted soon.Did you get that insurance ???
I agree with Mandy.A radio or tv left on for him might help.I always left some background sound on for Chester.Even now sometimes if I see he is anxious about being left.I used to leave an old jumper of mine in his bed or even an old slipper lol

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 14 Feb 2012 16:39

Whatever you do Pat don't give him anything like a slipper or you will never have a pair of your own. I agree with and old jumper and preferably a dirty one with your smell on it. Also and old clock that still ticks is a good thing. I borrowed mums expensive hot water bottle when Holly was a young pup. Mum had bought it in Harrods. Holly ripped it to shreds!!!! I had to buy her another one. (mum that is but it was'nt from Harrods) :-(

Maureen you are quite correct with your answer to my question, take 5 house points and a gold star. :-D

Maureen Report 14 Feb 2012 17:03

Don't suppose I will be very popular now I'm teacher's pet ......lol

Not good news on Alfie's blood test results. Just been on the phone to the vet and he now has liver problems, they are suggesting a scan £250 and probably surgery after that I didn't even ask how much that would be, I'm sure even if they sort this problem out another will present itself so have decided to let nature takes it's course, I just can't afford to keep paying all these vets bills. Have always known I was on borrowed time with him, have already had nearly two years so each day now is a bonus. He seems quite happy at the moment so will see how he goes.

On a brighter note, I had the giggles Ann reading about your clear out and William's ongoing battle with BBBM.

Hope the cold is easing off a bit Frank at least you have Lewis there to take your mind off it.

Frank

Frank Report 14 Feb 2012 17:40

Can't settle in bed, I just want to sleep. If I do that I will be up all night. It feels as thought my head dosen't belong to me, and as for my nose. DON'T ASK.

Maureen so sorry to hear aboput little Alfie, I know you will give himm all the love and attention he will need, and you can give.

William, I don't think yo will ever have a good relationship with BBB. I know the three, that my next door but one has, only have to see me and they bolt for their lives with smpoke comming from their rear end.

Ann, I can't remember those tiny patches they called panties !!!! I can just imagine someone opening that bag at the Charity shop, and saying What a gay old bird, she must be. :-D :-D :-D

Jane, Lewis has been wonderful, he has found a site on the web and is teaching himself card tricks. Everytime he works it out, he is in the bedroom trying them out on me. He's pestering Ros at the moment.

Poor old you David, was one of your eyes on your temple !!!!! Parents cound never see anything wrong with us children.

Mel, It sounds as though you have had a nice day. Is Mr Mel cooking for you tonight ????

Ros has done some more meat and veg for the stew. Lewis wanted some before he went to bed last night, and wants more today. So that will be nice and easy, and not a lot of washing up for her tonight.

I have told him IF I feel a bit better tomorrow, we will take him for a Chinese. Ros will take him swimming on Thursay. His Mum wants to go to the Cinema when she comes for him on Friday, so the three of them will go to see the SMURFS. How they could sit throught that I don't know.

The sweat is pouring of me at the moment, so I think I will get a hot shower and put a clean dressing gown on. I might even have a shave. First since Sat. Mr brissle

Oh Maureen ,what a shame about Alfie.I think you are right in that there will be more problems in the future :-(.I suppose time will tell. But he is a lucky puss to have you.

LOL Mel I didn't think about the slipper problem when I suggested it to Pat.I was lucky with Chester ,and he didn't wreck any.But now I think I know why he loves to lick my toes and feet. It's a comfort thing :-D :-D
A ticking clock is a good idea.I have heard of that beforeIt's supposed to be like 'mum's heartbeat I think.

Are you having anything special for your Birthday Dinner tonight? That was a great idea with the picture of you on the mug.A nice reminder of your holiday too.

I had to laugh earlier.James said as his girlfriend is not here and his best mate's girlfriend is working he will be spending Valentines Evening with Jake lol Bless :-)
