Some of them my Dad would have said and he was Hampshire born and bred so maybe they are either universal or they have become so because of the services, he was in the RN. e.g. put the wood in the hole? were you born in a barn. |

Just a query on the first saying of its chucking it down. Some of us still use the phrase 'Its 'ossin to slart' which is more descriptive of the weather when it begins to rain. |
