I would have taken him myself if I had known. Bless him, so pleased he got there safely :-)

Good for him, hope he had told his wife he was going. Sounds as tho he wasn't 'banned' from going by the home. I hope they celebrate his escapade when he gets back and hope he can continue to do as he wants for many years to come!

Bernard Jordon has just arrived home safe and well from his adventure in Normandy but very tired.

I say good luck to him for having the spirit to go on his own.

It's spirit like his that shows the young 'uns how Great Britain and Allied Troops won both wars.

He wants to go again next year so the home should make sure it books him a place on next years trip.

well the home and the staff seem absolutely fab and they did prepare for him to go - buying him a new blazer for the event - he just took off without telling them - gutsy old chap ain't he - glad all's well that ended well and now he's a media sensation :-D :-D :-D :-D

He had no difficulty getting over there70 years ago when he & his like were so desperately needed.

But what does it say or not say about his kith & kin who didn't ensure he travelled in the manner befitting an honourable aged gentleman?

Help for heroes, my foot! Bah! Humbug!
