Brian, what a worthwhile job you and your wife are doing. These dogs are so valuable to the people who are assigned them. And what a lovely gesture that you should be invited to meet the recipient. Well done to you both and hope Sirius's story is as rewarding for you all.

We've only been doing it for two years. My wife does the greater share of the actual handling, though. It's better for the dogs to have one main contact.

But thinking of ordering some t-shirts with the logo "Puppy parent in training. Do not distract me".

We also do some speaking to schools, WI and similar groups and a bit of fundraising.

We had to pass Kennedy on early but now have Sirius who will be eight months next week.
He is a BIG lad and is having the chop today (poor boy).

Great to know how Ressie has settled so well with Jim and his family and I hope they have many wonderful times together. It was good of Jim to do the memory stick for you.

Have fun with Kennedy, hope he turns out as well.

How lovely to be included. It must make the work you did seem even more worth while.

On Monday we were honoured to be invited to Ressie's Partnership Ceremony day (with ten other pups/partners) down at the HO in Heyshott.
We got to meet Jim and his wife, Ressie's sponsors, and the fosterers who had her for the weekends when she was in advanced training.
Jim gave us a memory stick with photos of Ressie since she has been with him. They are devoted to each other and Ressie has really fallen on all four paws! She is his third dog and to see her and the previous (retired) one curled up together in front of a wood-burner was lovely.
It was a lovely day with lots of emotion all round.

It must be upsetting when you give the dogs back, but such a warm happy glow when you know they're doing so well.

Wow, you must be so proud Brian. Congratulations after putting in all that hard work, time and effort.

I tried hard with ours as a pup and take my hat off to anybody who gets them to behave!

So well done, you will miss her so much. Thank goodness for the new dog, good luck with him, too!

Heard yesterday that Ressie has gone home with her new Partner, Jim.

Unfortunately Kennady has been unwell this week but after three trips to the vet is on medication and is now considerably brighter.
