	Belle…I read a book last year about the Hop Picking parties in Kent….mostly Londoners and from the East End. The accommodation was quite dire…no running water/toilets etc…the food in most establishments was totally inadequate. Twas my humble opinion that the women were glad to get away from the smoke their husbands and the daily grind
