Actually Maddie, once I discovered Rolls and Rems in Seven Sisters Road I didn't bother with JL. R&R was much cheaper and a good forage would bring up some fabulous fabrics - I'll have to get on my googlemobile and see if they're still there but I doubt it :-( Great lock up market opposite too - long depleted.
Jones Brothers (JL branch) was round the corner on Holloway Road - now that's going back to Moses! :-0

Yep, I'm bored and cheesed off that we moved away now but the upper canopy with plain bulbs for xmas was getting too expensive. :-(

Dont know about Stratford, I know they are still doing works over there. You are the Research Queen, ask Dr Google :-) <3

I dont think Rolls and Rems is still there to be honest. There is only one haberdashers left in Seven Sisters, before you get to Hornsey Road. It stocks Asian materials, lots of brocades and silks. There is still a market in SS. They have poshed it up a bit.

Have not been under the canopy for ages, but when there last, quite a few charity shops and estate agents. The Angel and Gatehouse are still there. But I agree, you need to be a milyonhair to live there now. :-( :-(

I have only read half the article Von, but it is fascinating. I used to work around the corner to Smithfields.

I seem to remember when they moved out of Fishmongers Hall, they said it would take a couple of years for the ice to melt in the freezers, as it had accumulated so thick over the years. :-0 :-0
