Today, on 1 July 1961 Diana Frances Spencer was born.
This little girl would later grow up, marry and become the mum to two boys,
William and Harry.

Diana, Princess of Wales would have been celebrating her 64th birthday.

On 1 July 1916, the battle of the Somme commenced. By the end of the day,
there were 19,000 casualties. It was the bloodiest day of the World War One.
