Some media are making a fuss about dirty clothes being donated to charity shops. This is nothing new. My mother managed an Oxfam shop over 50 years ago. Lots of dirty clothes, including, shall we say, used ladies knickers.

I don't know how anyone can donate clothes that haven't been washed. I would be ashamed to hand them over.

I do however donate old knickers (albeit clean ones) as I was told by our local charity shop that anything that they can't sell goes into a large plastic bag and they get paid for what is classed as "rags". The more the merrier !

Same here Kath. When I was sorting my late partners many :-0 shirts I washed every one of them but checked with the local charity shop regarding ironing them - no need as they steam everything. Phew!
They will take anything, as you say. they sell on for rags. I wouldn't give them my old pants though, there wouldn't be much left after they'd cut the elastic off surely? LOL

Island - you obviously don't wear "Big" pants like me :-D

I'm sure no-one goes to the trouble of cutting off elastic though :-S
