I grew up just down the road from a tall column, which featured Nelson looking out to sea.

The sun is shining and is drying the soaked paths and roads.
Not cold.
I've only been as far as our boundary to put the bins out, then to retieve the garden bin, which is usually emptied first.
Have a meeting to attend later, so I'll just potter indoors until then.

I have Thames Water here to remove the blockage from under next door :-0 :-0. They were supposed to be here at 9:30 but have not long got here :-0 :-0

Had a good natter this morning while I was doing my voluntary stint. Always enjoy being there as people are very friendly and I get invited to all sorts of stuff. <3

Gwyn, some dates seem to be stuck in my mind from schooldays and, sometimes, it seems that my mind is full of useless information so I try to impart some of it. Sharing is good! ;-) :-D

Belle, has the bright neighbour flushed something down the loo that should not be there? Earlier this year our water board warned everyone around here that some were flushing pads and such down the loo and the sewage pipes had had to be flushed because of blockages. I don’t understand people’s mentality sometimes.

I know what you mean about useless information, but it does surprise daughters sometimes, when I can perhaps answer obscure quiz questions ;-)

There were a few local fireworks yesterday, but not very loud and all over within minutes, so not really a problem
