Ron, the main thing I would ask GR would be to put moderators into place immediately. I have an email from GR from two years ago that promised this would happen shortly. I subscribe to several other sites - not all to do with family history research, and all of them are moderated. |

Hello everyone, thankfully I haven't had any nasty problems but as I swapped names recently I thought it might be a good idea to say that if anything I have posted has caused any undue hurt it was unintentional and I apologise unconditionally. good luck in your efforts. Merle Sandells |

For GR to un-encrypt C/C details then GR/ITV would be in breach of your given C/C security when you join as a paid member,,,,,,,,, I certainly wouldnt like to think anyones was un-encrypted,,,,,as with all sites you pay for a service by.they are *suposed* to give you security in knowing that your C/Cdetails are not shown or known to owners of that site,,,,,would anyone be happy to know that sites such as---E***could un-encrypt deatils of your payment method,,,? |

Ron, Sometime ago I suggested to GR.a system of 'Yellow card,Red Card' could be used and simple to implement, to no avail. I don,t think they,re bothered as long as they get their cash. Hal. |

If behavoiur cant be upheld on this site then it should be a total Bann from the site full stop,,,,,,the line has to be drawn somehere, but it wont stop people re-joining as GR state in their T&C--they will not be held responsible if a -Banned member or Suspended member re-joins, all they can do is block as they do now access entry to the site via a logged email address,,,,but multi email addresses from different sources can overcome this. |

Lots of people feel the same way about this matter. Keep adding to this thread and maybe they might see that the members are not going to be treated like mushrooms (ie kept in the dark and fed on bull droppings.) for much longer. Just my view but i think GR have like a ticking time bomb on it's hands and it's just a matter of time befor things explode on this site. Lots of paid up MEMBERS want MODERATORS on this site Lots of paid up MEMBERS want ISP NUMBERS LOGED in order to control bullys and trouble makers and keep them from spoiling the site for others We as Members have the right to inform GR, of the things the members want and why we want them. GR should if they care at all about the members they do have, fill what needs it's members have. |

It needs moderators on all the time to see exactley what goes off. Deleting shouldn't be allowed.........I go on one site that prevents deletions and I haven't in two years seen one bad word. Suspensions should be done after a warning and for persitent offenders a life ban Names should not be changed............once you have them it should be for keeps .....unless a sound reason is given and agreed by the moderators |

I know that this has been said before by different people on different threads, but the General Topics Board is not an important part of the GR site and the vast majority of members never use it. |

Hi Ron Used to come on here quite a lot but hardly ever these days . Why? Because nothing ever changes - same old boring drivel and argurments. So I would say to GR close the general board down altogether - it really is not worth it. Failing that, 3 bans and you're banned for good. I'd also say to the constant bickerers on here that when your mates get banned, instead of starting endless waving threads or missing you threads or they've done nothing wrong threads - all pile onto MSN or SKYPE and give all the 'normal' folk on here who just want a bit of fun a break. Sorry Ruby but i disagree and think many of the members use the topic boards, and as for it not being important to some members it can be the only lifeline they have with the outside world due to ill health or what ever reason. What may not be important to you dose not mean it's not important to others. |

agree about the moderators, all other sites I belong to have mods 24/7, mind some of them are personal chat sites. OH is a mod for three different sites as he's a night owl. Most of the sites that are well moderated seem to be in it for the fun of the site rather than the monies it generates thou. |

Ron, Have to say I agree with all the others Moderators 24/7 is the only way all this silly and sometimes nasty backbiting and fighting can be controlled, just a pity GR wont do it ;;; Babs |

GR can't be held responsible for the type of people that join and post. ALL members are personally responsible for everything they say and do. If anyone has so little self control they can be 'goaded' into acting in a manner that is likely to get them into trouble or offend others they need to rethink their suitability to belong to any internet forum. No-one can force us to behave in a manner that will cause distress to others. Less blame and more mea culpa. |

Borababs Deb and Blondie Nearly everybody on this site agree's MODERATORS are needed badly on this site. So i have a question for GR WHY wont you put Moderators on this site after seeing so many members request them for so long? GR please put your reply on this thread for all to see. |
