Hi June, It's a (fictional) novel about a WW2 Submarine named H.M.S. Scorpion and is based around the central character, Leading Seaman Tom Titt. It really depicts submarine life at the time but is not a 'boys own' type story, it's a human story as well if you get what I mean. The title derives from a dit that a character called Stanley used to quote. After downing his pint in one go he would put his glass down and utter;- Oh Lord above, send down a dove With wings as sharp as razors To cut the throats,of them there blokes Wot sells bad beer to sailors. Can't argue with that myself!
