Some of you may remember my niece was taken into hospital a couple of weeks before Christmas. She could not keep her feed down, and was projectile vomiting every time. At four months old she had lost weight and was below her birthwieght of 7lb 10oz. At first they thought it was dairy intolerance, and put her on soya milk, which helped a bit for the first week, but the sickness started again after a few days, followed by further weight loss. So she spent more time in hospital a week before Christmas, when she was given domperidone to stop the sickness. She was diagnosed with oesophagal reflux. The Domperidone helped a little but still the sickness came and she was not gaining any wieght. Over new year she spent a week in hospital while they monitored her, during which she gained 1/2 oz and went home. A week later she was back again, new feed formula, infant Gaviscon and domperidone, and now she is gaining weight. Just got a text from my sister, she is now 10lb 4oz, and has gained 7oz in a week! I am over the moon :-)))) |

Thank you Debby, it was a real worry. She's such a pretty and bright eye little girl, but she was so poorly a few weeks ago. Now she's coming on in leaps and bounds! Hays....shurrup! |
