My Soreen is just thawing out, cut a couple of slices to thaw and put the rest back in freezer or I would eat the lot!!

Unfortunately we don't get that here, but when back 'home' I adore Malt loaf - the thicker slices the better, just eaten as is, no butter. What about lardy cake (for all you southerners) whilst we are discussing low fat food!! mmmmm. And Jamaican Ginger cake - the list goes on......... Lyn

Lynn, how could you, I am so trying to lose weight, now I will have to dig one out of the freezer! Like mine with sliced banana or cheese on it.

Used to make it myself, have a recipe that doesn't use yeast.

We don't get the same type of malt loaf here in Australia, or at least I have never seen it. When we visit England the family get in a big supply. Love it with lots of butter...yum! Susan
