I never put new shoes on a table-must be a Lancashire thing! Over here in Cyprus you must always leave the building the same way you came in-in the front door ,out the front door ???

Never give / accept a gift of a knife - they should always be paid for (don't know why, but you should always pay even if it's a ha'penny) Monday's child is fair of face.................. A dimple on the chin brings a fortune in, a dimple on the cheek leaves a fortune to seek Gifts of purses / wallets should always contain a coin, else it is a gift of povety (a curse meaning your purse will always be empty).
