We are en route to the hospital in this part of Norwich, and I have been hearing sirens all day. Quite alarming really.

Stourbridge, West Midlands I've got someone's compost bin on the lawn, 3 fence panels down on next door's side....we want to sell will they fix them though? My back gate latch is bust so the doors swinging. An old chest freezer waiting for the dump has walked a few feet up the path. Bits of wood and wheelies all up the street and at least 3 trees down in the park I can see down the road.

I have so far today: Collected the garden chairs from down the garden. Fished the same chairs out of the pond. Searched for, found and replaced the big cover from the BBQ Found, replaced and battoned down the lid from the recycling box. Managed to hold onto the car door as the wind tried to detach it from the car. Remembering where I last saw the flying lid so that when someone looks tonight I can tell them. The fence panel can stay lying on the grass where it landed. Luckily it wasn't one of the new ones needed from the winds 2 weeks ago! Right now I am sitting listening to lots of things happening on my roof! Anything that comes off that will head straight for my car. The Director of our local Airport - Birmingham, was killed today when a tree went through his windscreen. Just hope the phone and electricity don't get affected as then I will have nothing to keep my mind busy! Jacky :-)

Very windy here in London. Just watched a neighbours car blow across the carpark!! The owner obviously didnt have his hand brake on fully, he isnt at home as the car is 'off road' so we had to go out push it back in its space and put some bricks behind the wheels to stop it blowing out of its space again,

Just had a horrendous journey home. Had to go and perm 83 yr old aunts hair. Coming home FOUR trees were doiwn on a 1 mile stretch of road and I had to go right over the opposite side of the road to get past. My heart was thudding as I watched the rest of the trees swaing perilously. Further along wheelie bins were rolling round the roads and debris everywhere. Was I glad to get home - you bet I was - even though when I arrived my wooden arbour in the garden was 'over'. Just settled with a nice hot coffee, keeping fingers crossed that nothinbg else happens. The noise of the wind I can manage with but the flying missiles - no.

It is really scary. I would have stayed at uni over lunch but had to go and get things from my flat. We're on the top floor (eleventh) and the windows were shaking this morning, but when I came back afterwards, they'd closed our building - a window had smashed on out floor and hit somebody. There's branches everywhere and bit of trees and two panels of the big fence round our hall of residence have fallen over. For some reason, there's police down the road - they've blocked the bit of the road off that I can see from my room.
