How many people still do jig-saws. I used to but dont have the time or space for them now. I buy one for mum every year as she lives on her own and spreads it out across the table for days on end. Got her one this year of a place we went to last year. |

I have not done one for a while but must have about twenty waiting to be done, one of the shops were selling new ones on clearance at five dollars some time back (they are usually NZ$20) which is why I have accumulated so many. I find that I tend to do more of them in the winter time then summer - which it is currently here - much more entertaining than watching reality tv. Michelle |

Husband does them all the time, we have one of those rollaway mats. Marvellous things when you roll it back out everything is exactly as you left it. Used to use a giant cork notice board and just lift it off when the table was needed or drop the tablecloth over the jigsaw. Just finished a 2,000 piece one. Linda x |

I love doing jigsaws but don't have a chance to do them anymore, if I leave it on a table one of the kids will try to help and next thing you know you have pieces missing. I will hint better for my birthday this year for one of the roll up mats. lol Jackiexx |

We have a jigsaw on the dining table at the moment. OH bought a fold up jig-saw mat thingy so we can put it away when we need the table and it just fits under the sofa. Heather |

We do them often, mostly in the winter when no gardening to do. when family call they often can't resist trying to find pieces to put in. We also use roll up mat, very handy. Reminds me of the Laurel and Hardy film when one is going to be married, they're waiting for the cars and Stan is trying to finish jigsaw. taxi driver comes in as well. at the end everybody is looking for the lost piece. love Laurel and Hardy films. Mau xx |

We have a nearly completed world map jigsaw on the table at the moment.... just sea with latitude and longtitude lines left to finish. This was a new standard type puzzle given to grandson at Christmas but there are at least 4 extra pieces so far, duplicates of pieces which already fit..... Someone must be missing a few. Gwyn |

I do them on my puter, its a program called Brainsbreaker which you can download for about £10 for a life membership. I copied this from their website www.brainsbreaker*com (change the * for a .) Jenny Turn any photo into a jigsaw puzzle or play with the large collection of pre-built puzzles downloadable online. With many pieces, shapes and features, the experience is the same as a real cardboard jigsaw and with more advantages. |

Kay Do you mean it is a 3 D jig saw? We saw them at christmas and thought about having one. One of my girls had a 3 D london bus a few years ago but they were cardboard pieces stuck onto like a sponge backing. That was quite good. Kept her amused for a while !! Gwynne Wonder if you could sell your extra pieces on e-bay.lol You never know they sell all sorts on there. |

aww Annabel you spoil sport LOL Fancy letting him do all the work then you put the last piece in. I used to work at a playgroup and on one of the training courses they said you should always let a child put the last piece of jig saw in. Even if you did all the other pieces then the child will think that they had actually done the jig saw as they had completed it so then that would give them some sort of encouragement. Makes sense really. |
