Where would you say the centre of mainland Britain

Kirkwall, way up north > Lizard in Cornwall is about 1350Km, so where would be about half of that ? 675 N of the Lizzard bear with me,i'm bored as you can tell |

Well....according to my measuring tape, the British Isles is 9 inches long. 4 1/2 inches down mainland Britain and 1/8 inch up from Leeds.........and I still don't know.... |

Lizard to Kendal is 670Km, so that is about the middle top to bottom, or is that North > South. dont have a clue where Dunsop Bridge is! |

Back on her podium after googling this Dunsop Bridge is a village in Lancashire, England. It is one of two main contenders for the location of the exact geographic centre of Great Britain. The other town is Haltwhistle in Northumberland, some 71 miles (114km) to the north. Dunsop Bridge's claim is calculated on the fact that it is the gravitational centre of the island Gloria |
