Just found out that a family of mine in 1881 had 18 children, can you beat this? How ever did they manage, the father was a joiner, must of paid well. Sue............ |

i could't imagine 18 kid's, how ever did she manage? no washing machine, no fridge/freezer, no gas heating, no disposible nappies, no plug in iron, no tumble dryer, no gas cooker, and no computers with genes reunited, nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!! i can bearly manage with all the modern appliances doing the work for me. question:: when did she have time to make babies??????????? |

22 is so hard to imagine isn't it? like my Nan my G nan was a tiny thing, only 4ft 10, but ruled with a rod of iron. My g nan on other side had 16 children, so we tend to have family everywhere. M. |

In my husband's family (1788) his gg...grandfather had three wives (not all at once of course, he remarried as each one died in childbirth) and he produced 23 kids. It's a nightmare sorting out all the various branches. |

Many years ago, when i was a serving policeman, a local chap had 22 children. He refused to get a job because the best one they offered to him only paid half of what he was getting in benefits. At least he was completely honest about it - and who can blame him - certainly not his wife with that number to look after. Best wishes |

A woman who came from my home town, ended up having 19 children, Amongst them were 2 sets of twins, a set of triplets and the rest single births...They didnt have much but are a terrifc family and the mum she was so skinny, no bloody wonder *lol* and recently I was talking to my sister and we realsied we never ever saw their father and yes he was it for all of them...figure that out...night owl alright! |
