I have been told that there are no swear words in Welsh and that if they want to be rude they have to swear in English - anyone know if this is true? When I was at primary school the rudest word was - bum! Ooh, shocking! nell

A mate of mine at uni was Welsh, and spoke in Welsh to his parents whenever he called home. I'm certain he told us the Welsh equivalent of the f-word (sounded like Carderlap).

Don't swear words come from a religious beginning.-You know the sort of thing 'If I tell a lie God Blind Me' became Cor Blimey and I swear by Our Lady that I am telling the truth became Bloody! etc etc.-
