.....Trio chocolate biscuits? I think they were more famous for their adverts (TRIIIIIIOOOOOOO!!!) than their toffee flavoured centre. Sorry, this conversation has just been floating round the office!

I haven't seen those in ages. I used to love them! Wonder if they're around somewhere, or if we need o petition to get them brought back.

I asked my hubby that at the weekend. They were well yummy. My Mum used to put one in my lunch box nearly every day. I loved the advert for them too. "I WANNA A TRIO AND I WANT ONE NOW" [Guess I'll have to make do with a penguin instead, though even they don't taste as nice since they lost the shiney wrappers!]

oh my god i love them. where did they go? we should start a petition to bring them back!

And uniteds as well, they were really scrummy, too

Were they similar to Club biscuits? 'If you like a lot of chocolate on your biscuit, join our club'! (sorry, in a silly mood)

They were similar to Club biscuits but had only the toffee flavoured centre whereas Club had different flavoured centres (blackcurrant, mint, orange etc). I haven't seen Trio in years. Are Club still on the go?

Just found this on a website: Chocolate covered biscuit bar. Recently spotted in Simpsons supermarket on the Malone road in Belfast by James Burns who says a toffee one was available as well. Rosemary Gault writes "I remember those - they were wrapped in gold foil and put in a red paper cover. Each biscuit had 3 lumps of fudge-like stuff on the top and they were then coated in chocolate, hence the name trio I suppose. I think they came in different flavours too - the red wrapper would have been for the milk chocolate edition. You could eat them by nibbling the choclate off then eating the fudge and the base, or snap them into 3." Damon Kemp adds "The first and the apparently biggest favourite was the toffee centred one. However, there was also a triple chocolate version, in silver foil with a blue wrapper."

I think my son ate them all! He always wanted those in his school lunchbox. CB >|<
