I shall be working away from home for 5 days starting on V DAY, therefore we will be celebrating in style on sunday. My hubby always makes a great effort every year ( and all year round) to be romantic, we were childhood sweethearts and have been married for 20 years, we also lived together for 3 years before then. lolxxx

When my man and I started courting we used to both take the day off work and go to the Elephant & Castle in Amersham, Bucks and have trout and almonds. Can't remember how this started, but we did it for years, and then when we moved and got more humdrum we didn't, then husband took me there as a surprise one Valentine's Day, but it had changed and they weren't doing lunch so we went elsewhere. For the last 7 years Mel and one or both boys have been away for a long weekend rugby tour at about 14th (its the first weekend of half-term). Not romantic, but I love having a tidy, quiet house to myself for a few days! nell

You're right Sue. There's alot of love and respect in this house and that counts far more than a card for me.

Gwyneth, same as you it will just be another day, don't believe in all that, it does not have to be 14th Feb to take the person you love out for a meal, mind you the shopkeepers win don't they with selling cards and flowers...........

ann what you want to do is send yourself a card and flowers then maybe he might change his mind LOLxxxxxxxxxxxxx(:

AnninGlos Report 26 Jan 2005 16:31

I wont get ven a card. I have a husband who thinks it is too commercialised and that people should show their love all year round. (lets me off buying a card anyway). he used to get me one when we were young though. and, yes, he is quite romantic. Ann Glos
