10 days ago I finished My Sister's Keeper' by Jodie Piccoult , which was very sad but a good read. Since then I have read Kate Furnivals book The Russian Concubine. A love story with history set in late 1920's in China. Was very sad to let it go, it was that good.

I'll bear rhat in mind about Riders.
I've just finished reading The Stone Carvers. Apparently there's a war memorial in Arras in France and this told the story of the construction.
I'm now reading The Echo Makers by Richard Powers. it won the 2006 prize for the National Book Award.
