GR members need to check this, the Hobbies and Craft board, whenever they log onto to the site. When you spot a thread about a new title, you then need to send a message to the thread originator by clicking on their board name ie GenesBookClub.

You don't automatically get sent a copy of each release - its up to you to ask every time. You may not be interested in the story while other GR members, who didn't fancy the previous, one are!

This is the latest thread with details of the title. They did have some books not claimed out of the 50 available although they may have now all gone.

GR did say that a book would be announced at the beginning of each month, so not long until Decembers announcement

love the idea of being able to read and review a book for free!
haven't got the time to join a regular book club, so this is ideal for me.
I enjoyed reading The Herbalist, and look forward to getting the next one to read. :-)

Just found out about the free Penguin books. Please let me know how and when I may participate. I have failed to find anything that helps.
Thanks, Kathy Williams

PM sent to the GenesBookClub asking them to reply to the various queries on the thread

Added at 11:15 on 25 Oct. Message STILL not opened - it doesn't give you much confidence, does it?

There was a post about the Book Club on Announcements on 8 Sept - that board is always worth checking when ever you log into GR.

Sometimes it's up to us to find out what's going on, even in 'real life', rather than sitting back and waiting to be informed. After all, as members of GR, we are all 'researchers' :-D

This is the 21st October and it is the first communication I have had concerning the Book Club!! Any explanation? I would like to join the book club, however, if still possible?

Hi Judith

As +++DetEtCive+++ suggests that dies seem to have been the plan. HOWEVER, since the delays on the first book it has all gone SUSPICIOUSLY quiet and seems to have died a quiet death. I think many of us are now holding our breath a fortnight after book two was due to be declared to see if, and more interestingly when, anything else comes out or if it all just quietly goes away.

Regrettably for the Genes Reunited Book Club some of us just don't know the meaning of keeping quiet! :-P

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 14 Oct 2013 23:12

Judith - the Books are supposed to be offered monthly. Once the thread goes up with the title and synopsis, you are supposed to contact the GR book-club poster to ask for your name to be put into a draw.
The selected names and address are then sent on to Penguin who send out the books. There was some mention initially of 50 copies being available.

The above gleaned from the various threads ;-)
