I love mosaics, making drawstring lined bags for charity and/or gift bags. Learning how to Free Motion sew, but machine in for a service. Just made an Angel on an Angel making course, and just bought fabric to make another.Love playing with my cricut, and sizzix, cutting out fabric christmas bits and pieces...:)

Training our working Cocker in readiness for the start of the shooting season! She always needs a refresher course this time of year! Nothing like a well trained dog, they're always welcome in any doggy home! Untrained ones are definitely not! ;-)

I really enjoy photography too and am having a new camera for Christmas! I agree with what you say, Black Knight and it also makes you much more observant of your surroundings and notice detail.

Photography is good for everybody.
You learn something new.
You get out & about.
You meet new friends with the same interest as you.
Still Life, Landscape, Street, Black & White or Portrait & more are all different types of photography.
You can learn as you go & the people you meet will also teach/help you.
You may even end up with some letters after your name.

I love words too Dermot, though I am a lazy writer and use words like nice (there's a word whose meaning has changed) to describe almost anything pleasant. My English teacher, still around in her mid-90s, would be horrified.

Have you read Bill Bryson's "Mother Tongue"? If not try and borrow a copy as I am sure you would enjoy it.

'Words' are my insanity.

And to aid my endeavour, I have just received a present of a: 'Dictionary of Changes in Meaning' by Adrian Room highlighting the fact that English is an ever-changing language where, over the centuries, very many words have acquired a new sense or gained an unexpectedly different meaning.

Powerful & entertaining stuff! :-D

Mel takes me back to when I used to make ducks out of pom poms to hang on prams. (a long time ago.)

Annx did you try the felting?

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 22 Oct 2017 22:39

If you've done a lot of knitting you must have a lot of different coloured wools over. Why not try pom pom making. I have made fairies and little dolls with pegs and pom poms, hedgehogs and a fairy garland for a friend a big. I have all the sizes of the plastic makers and its so easy.

Ann I have a horrible feeling I was going to put something of yours on the craft blog. I don't think I did and now can't find it. If you want to re-send it I will do it. :-)

Thank you AnninG.

Yes....... I do

Jewellery making......mostly beadwork.
Photography
Painting
Fused Glass

The fused glass is the most recent and I really enjoy it.

In the past I have done knitting (get too hot to wear woollies now!) and macrame.

What I want to try next is needle felting after seeing some lovely pictures done with it.
