Whats issued after adoption is a-------Certificate of Adoption......not a true birith certificate. It gives no place of birth, or when registered,.a birth name (if changed) or mothers name.

What is issued is a ------"""A copy of an entry from the Adoption Register"".

This is printed on the issued full certificate ,so anything requiring proof of birth by a full certificate, ie,,,,passport, armed forces, some job applications.-adoption is shown

So an adoptee will know in an instance they are adopted.but knowing isnt automatic they wish to act on it.

When the time is right they will seek.

Hi Vicki,

I am afraid that I cannot add anything valuable to this thread, but I wanted to wish you all the best with your search.

It is nice that your uncle has not been forgotten about (so to speak).

I hope that it all works out and you end with with any answers that you want and/or need.
