On GR, not Ancestry!

This link ought to take you to the tree entry. Then you can send a message to Sandra.

Hi ArgyllGran
When I do an Ancestry search there is only one Cheryl Jean Guthrie 1963 USA
Not Sandra.

And here's the grave of Sybilla's mother Sybil/Sybilla

How sad for Sybilla - her mother died less than two months after her husband.

Here's a photo of Thomas Leonard Guthrie's grave marker in Mudgee General Cemetery - but no new info:

There's no point in looking at the 2012 marriage of Cheryl with the middle name.
As said above, she was born in 1981.

I feel sure your Cheryl is still in Australia (if still living), but there's no mention of her on the Ryerson Index, nor on Trove.

Re contacting Sandra -

go to" Search" at the top right of this page, then "Search all member trees".

Enter the name Cheryl Guthrie, and 1964.
Only one result comes up.
Click on "Find out more" at the right hand side, beside Sandra's name, and send her a message, explaining your interest.

Her Cheryl may, of course, be someone completely different.

You may be lucky and receive a quick answer, but it's common for people to have to wait ages for a reply, if they get one at all.
GR never deletes a tree, so there are lots of trees the owners of which have died/lost all interest in genealogy/no longer look at GR for any number of reasons.

Also, if Sandra has changed her email address and not informed GR, she may not receive the message.

Good luck!

Big thanks for your fantastic ongoing support
I have a copy of the death certificate for Sybilla no family named as informant staff at home she was in at the time dealt with the paperwork.

I would have thought if Cheryl was in Scotland she would have been the informant.

Do we have a family tree name for Sandra I will contact her

I have spent loads of time today combing through Australian newspapers looking for Cheryl no luck so far.

I will go to the records office tomorrow morning to check the marriage details for Cheryl Guthrie 2012

Best regards
Ian

Someone called Sandra has a Cheryl Guthrie born 1964 on her tree on GR - no place of birth mentioned.

Have you tried to contact Sandra, Ian, just in case this is the same Cheryl? (Or perhaps you already know who Sandra is.)

Assuming Cheryl remained in Australia, as Det says, we won't be able to find anything about her online, as it's too recent.

We don't know when Sybilla left Australia - could have been any time between 1980 and 2002.

ArgyllGran

ArgyllGran Report 26 Aug 2019 10:35

The 1981 record for Cheryl (with middle name) is a birth, Det.
That Cheryl married in 2012.
She's also the Cheryl Guthrie shown on 192.com at a Glasgow address, with her parents 2002-2009, then with her husband 2009-2017.

There is no other marriage for a Cheryl Guthrie in Scotland in a feasible year.
Nor a death, for that matter.

There is no marriage for a Cheryl Guthrie without a middle name in England/Wales.

According to the NSW government website, you won't be able to search for the following due to their strict closure laws

Births under 100 years ago
Deaths under 30 years ago
Marriages under 50 years ago

Online electoral rolls stop at 1980 - Cheryl would have been too young to vote.

As Sybil came back to the UK, perhaps her daughter did as well? Have you looked for a marriage on Scotlandspeople?
Do you intend to order a copy of Sybil's DC? She may have been the informant.
........
There is a 1981 marriage for a Cheryl Guthrie on Scotlandspeople, but with a middle name.
ADDED - NOT the above! Argylgran has pointed out that its a birth. Doh!

Cheryl must have been born in NSW, going by her parents' ER records.

Such a recent birth(c1964) isn't online, on Ancestry at least.
