Looking for living relatives or any information of the late Jack Turner. Born in Chester 1920s. Mothers name Annie Turner formerly Dunning d.o.b 02/03/1891. Fathers name Walter Turner. Jack Emigrated to Australia in the 1950s. Believed to have later moved to New Zealand. As a young boy, Jack lost an arm after being hit by a bus in his home town of Chester. Jack went on to raise a large family. I am aware that one of his children was named Chester Turner, born around 1965.

Thanks thats fantastic. Annie and Walter Turner were my grandparents. The address is correct, they did have a large family sadly all now passed away, My mother was Joan Turner she also had a younger sister named Bet and older brothers Charlie, George, and Walter. I know my grandfather died when the youngest Bet was very young i would be interested in his cause of death. This is all new to me so any advise is greatly appreciated. Jack could of married before leaving leaving for Australia.

Hi
Do you know WHERE his son Chester Turner was born 'roughly1965' ? (Aus/NZ?)
He may be easier to follow up.

Hi
Just found sad news of John Turner's (early) death. NSW BMD shows: ……
Reg.No 70944/1971
John Turner d 31/10/1971 age 53yrs 'late of Sadlier' son of Walter & Annie Turner.

Death notice was in 'Sydney Morning Herald' 2/11/1971.

The 'NSW State Library' (on-line) has an 'Ask a Librarian' service. They will check that newspaper death notice for John Turner (SMH 31/10/1971) - it should show family names etc.

NSW/BMD has a list of 'transcription agents' who will search that Reg.No. and send you details from death cert. (approx. $25). It should show his wife/chn's names etc.
('Joy Murrin' is one of the agents) (Cheaper than buying the cert.)

Hopefully there will be mention of 'Chester' - if so - 'Ask a Librarian' to check their NSW electoral rolls -which are current -up to present day. They should at least find entries for John Turner -up to 1971 and hopefully 'Chester' plus any other names mentioned.
(with compulsory voting here -we ALL have to be on the rolls from 2yrs after arrival)

PS
I have just emailed 'NSW State Library's 'Ask a Librarian' service -to check the SMH death notice (2/11/1971)- for family names etc.

Hi - I have just received copy of his newspaper death notice - showing lots of family names. He died in an accident. I will send a PM with my email address to exchange contact -I can 'forward' the newspaper details directly to you.
(info KINDLY sent from a volunteer on RYERSON's INDEX)

(I shall disregard 'NSW Library' ….fee $16.50!!)

Ok Angela - seems likely just the 'place' name was on the photo.

The 'NSW Library' (Ask a Librarian' service) can trace those family names found (thanks to RYERSON's volunteer!)) - from latest/current electoral rolls. (Mission now accomplished!!?)
