There's no marriage in England/Wales for Round to Daphne J, so could this be relevant - albeit with very inaccurate birth year.

Perhaps she was one who fibbed about her age

You say he joined up in 1921 - he would have been only 16

This one's a clerk, which is what your grandfather was

Occupation Clerk
Departure year 1925
Departure day 29
Departure month 9

Destination port Melbourne
Destination Melbourne
State Victoria

Destination country Australia
Ship name Baradine

Not sure why the above was transcribed, as it's scored through on the original, indicating that he didn't travel

Also crossed out on this earlier one............

BUT......if it's your man, he was a civilian

Sorry, I assumed you’d understand about Janet’s name - I told you she’d married - and when - so you could look it up yourself.

You say that Albert and Amy had two children.

If you search on FreeBMD for births with surname Round, and mother's surname Whiting, you will see there were three children, as I said before.

The third one's name was Daphne - but I can't see any records apart from her birth.

Buck was her married name. The record posted by ErikaH is her death record.

She married in Leeds in 1969.

Before marriage her name was Round.

ErikaH Report 27 Apr 2021 17:11

ArgyllGran

ArgyllGran Report 27 Apr 2021 17:02

Albert and Amy also had three children, registered in Lincolnshire, 1929-35.

This one died young:

Births Jun 1929 (>99%)
Round Nevil J Whiting Ipswich 4a 1659

Deaths Mar 1936 (>99%)
Round Neville J 6 Ipswich 4a 1361

The second child may have married twice, in Lancaster RD, is on the 2018 ER for that area, and appears to still be living there.

I don't see the third child in later life

I've deleted the 1964 marriage.

ErikaH

That 1964 marriage is the daughter - and she's on the current ER, so discretion is needed
