to get your Emoticons - go into "Tools" top of this page, click on "Compatability setting" - top left hand corner you will see what looks like a torn page, click on that and hey presto - you will have your emoticons!! :-D

Or ask Jordi out of Star Trek to fit you with an Emotion chip, like he did for Data. Messed the poor chap up something awful! :-S

Wend Report 20 Oct 2012 16:43

I can't see 'Tools' at the top of this page. Do you mean 'Tools' in the menu bar? If so, when I click on that I can't see 'Compatability' setting :-S

I noticed that wisechild was emotionless too ;-) Bet you're not really :))))))

That aside ( if you don't mind wisechild :-) )

Like Wend
when I click on Tools I can't see 'Compatibility' setting to click onto.......
but I've got emoticons anyway !!

Just wonder why I haven't got the option of 'Compatibility settings' under 'Tools' ?

What browser are you using?

generally speaking if you don't have the option to go to compatibility view then it's because your browser is already compatible with the web page your viewing

But not always

try where your address bar is.....right hand end

I think compatibility view is feature of Internet explorer so don't think other browsers have that option

Just Googled for FireFox compatibility and the advice is to clear cache and cookies

When IE views a web page, if their is a compatibility issue then your browser should show an extra icon at the end of the address bar ( looks like a torn piece of paper ) click on that to go to compatibility view, bear in mind that just because the icon is their does not automatically mean that you need to,

compatibility view is their for if the website you’re visiting doesn't look right. It shows up as a jumble of out-of-place menus, images, and text boxes.

so if the page is OK and nothing is missing then you don't need it
